1768 List of Tithes - Cumberland Co. VA
In transcribing this tithe list, I found William Allen's hand-
writing to be, for the most part, fairly legible. There are a
few instances, however, where I may have misinterpreted his
writing. For example, household numbers 160 & 166 I transcribed
as Wm. and Henry Macon. I cannot say for sure that Wm. and
Henry's last name isn't Mason, but it looks more like Macon to
me. Wherever I encountered serious interpretation problems, I
have so indicated by a question mark in brackets.--Robert Beverly.
