Stuarts Draft
July 18 1979
Dear Mrs Smith
Here are your papers that I copied and some of mine. You will note that some tales as told
by our ancestors are quite similar.
I am also sending some lineage charts that I have on some branches of the Willoughby and Jobe families.
I feel that since g.g.grandfather's [i.e. Willoughby 1758] brother Charles was married in
1780 then he had to be younger than Job. It is difficult to get the boys lined up as to
which was which. For example Job's descendents have them to be:
Willoughby (b1758) - Job (b1766) - Charles - Aaron
W.G. Blackard says they are:
Willoughby - Thomas - William - Aaron
Our friend and relative in Tennessee says a William signed Charles marriage bond.
Note Aunt Kates's remark that Willoughby was the son of Charlie B. and the Welsh
woman. Maybe Charlie was William Charles or vice versa.
I get the feeling somehow that our Willoughby had two more boys - (girls unknown) if he
did then this could explain the Willoughby, William and Carroll in Tenn. and Alabama
around 1850.
Or they could be the sons of Aaron or Charles. For some unknown reason we have
no information on two of the brothers.
Will be in touch with you if I get more information.
Your distant relative,
Doug Blackard
