The William Eaton who formed the Granville Militia in 1754 was born in Prince George County, Virginia and married there in 1717. He is recorded again in Prince George on a 1723 deed. He was recorded in the 1750 Granville tax lists and recorded there continuously thereafter in Granville and Bute until his 1771 will in Bute.
