In Prince George in 1715 William Hamlin, son of John Hamelin witnessed the will of Thomas Blackman.

John Cargill, brother of Cornelius Cargill married Sarah Hamlin and Cornelius was
recorded with Charles Blancherd in 1721).

In 1715, William Hamlin, son of John Hamelin witnessed the will of
Thomas Blackman in Prince George County, VA. Blackard family lore mentions a
THOMAS BLACKARD in our line. This man makes a very good candidate for him.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. The Last Will and Testament of Thomas
Blackman aged fifty six or thereabouts, who is weak in Body but of a
sound and perfect memory praised be the Lord for it, and I do hereby
revoak and make void all wills as verbale & written and make this my
Last Will and Testament as followeth. First I bequeath my soul unto
God, and my body to be interred after the Discretion of my Executrix,
and as for my Estate I give and bequeath in manner and form as
followeth after my just Debts are fully satisfied. Item. I give and
bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Blackman one heifer with calf and a
____ Lamb, them and their increase. Item. I give unto my son Thomas
Blackman one mair filly, she and her increase, and one gun, and my
will is that my son shall be for himself at sixteen years of age and
to receive his mair and the increase thereof and his gun. Item. I give
and bequeath unto my Loving wife Ann all the rest of my Estate both
within Doors and without both goods and chattels during her life, and
after her decease what is left to be equally Divided between my two
children, whom I make my whole Executrix witness my hand this sixteenth
Day of March Anno 1714/15.

Att a court held for the county of Prince George on the second Tuesday
in November 1715 being the Eighth day of the said month.
The above written Last Will and Testament of Thomas Blackman Dece'd.
was presented into Court by Ann Blackman the Executrix therein named
who made oath thereto according to Law, and the same being proved by
the oaths of George Tillman and John Brooks two of the witnesses
thereto is by order of the Court here truly recorded and a Certificate
granted the said Executrix for obtaining a probate in due form.

The 1725 Will of John Hamlin of Merchants Hope for Prince George County left
his son Charles Hamlin his plantation at Merchants Hope Chappell. It also
mentions his son William Hamlin and minor son John Hamlin. Wife Ann Hamlin
was the executrix of the will which was "Signed, seald, published & declared
in presence of us Peter Wynne, Frances Wynne,H. Poythres"

William Hamlin witnessed the will of Robert Chappell, grandson of immigrant
Thomas Chappell Sr. who was named on the same 1650 headrights grant as JOHN
BLACKARD.

John Cargill, minister, thought to be brother of Cornelius Cargill (who was
recorded with CHARLES BLANCHERD in 1721) married Sarah Hamlin.

William Hamlin also witnessed the above 1715 will of THOMAS BLACKMAN in
Prince George.

The 1723 Prince George estate of Timothy Bridges mentions Rev. John Cargil
(brother of Cornelius), Capt. John Hamlin, John Hardyman, William Hamlin,
Thomas W. Sparrow (son of Charles?), Charles Hamlin and Thomas Harrison.

Carol Middleton's Research on Hamlin-Taylor:

* Richard Taylor, born 1664, Charles City County, VA. On 11/03/1673,
on the Blackwater, behind Merchants Hope at a place called Saw Tree,
beginning at a swamp nigh the house, given to him be the will of his
father Richard Taylor 07/15/1672. Married ?. Died 12/1694 in Charles
City County, VA.

Richard Taylor owned a 1673 patent along the Blackwater River,
Charles City County, at a plantation called "Saw Tree". This estate
was left by his brother John Taylor to Elizabeth Duke in 1709.

* Elizabeth Taylor. Married John Hamlin, son of Stephen and Agnes
Hamlin. Their children: John Hamlin (d. 1725), William Hamlin (,
Hannah Hamlin (d. 1752, Surry Co, VA), Lucy Hamlin (m. William Eppes),Sarah
Hamlin (m. Rev. John Cargill), Elizabeth Hamlin (m. Thomas Ravenscroft; d.
after 1720). Elizabeth died before 1720, Prince George Co, VA.
