Connection to Blackard: |
In a 1670 patent William Peebles claims headrights on a James Durant and that name was also on the earlier 1650 headrights list with JOHN BLACKARD. Perhaps this was a transfer of headrights instead of a transporation. The Durant family may have come from Scotland as did Peebles and possibly the 3 Douglas men.
