According to one source Henry Duke of James City County, Virginia died
in Prince George in 1718. According to another source he was born about 1673
in Martin Brandon Parish, Charles City County, VA, and died there in January
1717/18 after it had become Prince George County. Martins Brandon is where
Charles Blancherd was recorded in 1714 and 1721. His son William Duke was
born in 1701 in Prince George (Brunswick) and died in 1773 in Bute(Warren)
County, NC. John, Joseph, William Duke Sr & Jr. were all recorded on the
1749 Granville tax list. William Duke was later recorded on a 1770 Bute NC
deed for Charles Bartholomew to Thomas House.
