William Mayo surveyed and produced maps of Barbados between 1717 and 1722. He had several subscribers in London. According to information I have my family went to the states---Isle of Wight, Va--Beaufort, Pitt, Pasoquatank, Perquimans, Pamlico counties of North Carolina. The is supposedly started with Edward Mayo (Barbados) to William Mayo (mid 1600's)(Barbados/Isle of Wight)m. Isabell Hardy (Isle of Wight) daughter of John Hardy to John Mayo (1692-) (Isle of Wight) to John Mayo (1725-1785?) (Isle of Wight/Beaufort) to Solomon Mayo (Beaufort) (1754-1796) married to Betsey?? My objective is to either prove or disprove that William Mayo, father of Valentine Mayo is also the Father of William (from Barbados) or is the brother of Valentine. Also, I want to see if Valentine Mayo was born in Barbados or in Virginia. H.L. Mayo
